Let’s Start Here makes an extremely creative turn for Lil Yachty where he goes full on progressive rock.
There is a constant theme within the tracklist, the instrumentals are incredible but the vocals usually are horrible. Yachty can’t sing at all, and he drenches his vocals in autotune to the point where most of the tracklist is unlistenable.
the BLACK seminole. has one of the best instrumentals of the decade, and the vocals are bad but not enough to completely ruin the song.
pRETTY might have the worst vocals I have ever heard before. I do not have anything else to say.
I cannot stress enough how many times the vocals make the track unlistenable, it is nearly every song on the album.
drive ME crazy! might have the best production on the album. The track features absolutely incredible vocals from Diana Gordon and Yachty’s voice works extremely well with her and his voice is actually cool on here. This more talk sing style works with his voice way better than any of the attempts at singing he has on the rest of the album. I love this song and it is far and away the best on the album.
I appreciate Yachty for trying something different, but his voice drags the album down a ton no matter how incredible the production is.
