I could see the vision on his first mixtape, but this just sounds like a bunch of noise to me ngl
I approached this compilation knowing only Mercy, New God Flow, and Don’t Like, and I ended up remembering only these three tracks. This isn’t a bad project by any means, but aside from these standout tracks, there isn’t enough quality here for me to want to return to it.
To me, it’s a similar case to Kingdom Come. The production is on point, but JAY-Z’s rapping isn’t always there
High highs and low lows. Underrated, but extremely inconsistent at the same time.
Finally, another great album from JAY-Z, but tbh it’s kind of forgettable compared to some of his other great projects
The production on some of these songs is great, but to me this is one of JAY-Z’s weakest projects in terms of his rapping performance
Because of albums like this, JAY-Z is one of my favorite rappers. It’s finally a rewarding listen after going through the R. Kelly collab, the two-hour-long The Blueprint 2, and a mixtape full of random freestyles.
There are almost two hours of music, and I don’t like music at all
Why did I even bother listening to this shit? I could say much more about what’s wrong with this album, from JAY-Z’s and R. Kelly’s performances on here to the title to the kind of people they are, but I’ll save those words for myself.
