Splendid debut from Jane Remover. Not only is the production extremely well-layered and experimental, but there’s just this catchiness to this record. Jane really knows how to both write a pop song and work her way through the ballad. Plus, the lyrics capture the teenage experience really well, especially the LGBTQ+ teen experience, and I find myself relating to the lyrics day by day.

Why does the K-Pop industry have to ruin all the big artists?

Anyways, yeah this record is fucking amazing. At a measley 12 minutes, NewJeans does more than what many pop artists do with full-length albums. Every song feels so fresh, even today, and comparable to TWICE and 4-Walls-era f(x) if you’re looking at K-Pop comparisons.

Anyways, this album has some insanely amazing tracks with “12 to 12” and “back to friends”, and the rest of these tracks are pretty decent. Can’t wait to see what music this guy comes up with in the future, as this is a pretty good start.
