Some of y'all are hating unnecessarily like you do to every female artist that achieves success overnight... The album is far from being AOTY on my first listens but several songs on it are far better than the rest of the mainstream music right now. Do some songs sound generic? Yes some of them do. Is this album thematically cohesive? Absolutely, despite combining several genres all the songs have this bitter feeling to it, making justice to the album title.
Production wise, I can do nothing ... read more
I was not aware of who she was until a few months ago. After hearing Taylor I decided to go back to the first single of this album and I couldn't be more impressed. Since then I decided to give a listen to this project and I can't be more proud of my decision. PUTA is a meticulously crafted project, that flows from piano ballads to synth influenced songs. Lyrically, the album has very raw moments and I love that she doesn't try to sweetener topics that shouldn't be sweetened at all. ... read more
Overall, El Madrileño is a carefully crafted album with several influences from both, Tangana's own culture in Spain and the more mainstream sound that carried 2020 and now 2021. The production is rich and creative, showcasing his good taste when it comes to production choices. As every other album, this project has its ups and its lows, but I was quite surprised by how enjoyable the lows were this time around. Best spanish LP of 2021 so far, hands down.
The atmosphere that she achieves in this record is completely spectacular. I personally like Norman Fucking Rockwell more, but I can understand why some people would choose this project over the previous one.
Even if "Fearless" is not one of my favorites albums I still appreciate the fact that she was smart and brave enough to use the power that she has gained over the years to pull off what it seems like a successful move to get back her life work...
This song has a nice nostalgic feeling to it... Ugh I love it
The second full length project by spanish singer-songwriter Alba Reche not only keeps the vulnerability and honesty of its predecessor "quimera" but also confirms her undeniable status as one of Spain's most promising newcomers.
I really like the added background vocals on the verses and Swift's vocal delivery on the song. Bravo.
He's a great male vocalist, but sadly his music doesn't live up to the expectations.... I'm not feeling this album in general.
After listening to this track a few times I can say that she's a promising newcomer. Let's hope she evolves from this into something more unique though. Either way I'm excited for what's to come.
A pretty disappointing project, I'm pretty sure that Mendes said at some point of 2019 that he wanted his next album to be "revolutionary" in the mainstream scene. However I did not feel like I listened to anything but safe songs with decent to mediocre lyrics, and some experimental production choices that don't really go anywhere...
Wow, I'm not usually a fan of acoustic versions because the production of a track is a key element on whether I end up liking it or not. But , I feel like this version of "folklore" does the opposite, it's almost as if you could feel Taylor's emotions through her voice in a different angle that we don't get to see quite often. It's not perfect by any means but this is probably the best she has ever sounded.
Yeah this one's a no from me. As much as I like this chill vibe, I can't just not compare this project to her older ones. There are a couple of stand-out tracks like "pov", "love language" and the title track, but overall I feel like she could have done way more with the whole concept.
This is low-key bad???. As someone that used to enjoy her music quite often, her new releases have become predictable and generic.
