Never heard a bad JVB song in my life, front to back banger

Tyler, The Creator - DON'T TAP THE GLASS
90

Already a new album?😭😭 what a blessing.

It feels like there so much content in the only 29 minute runtime, the album keeps the tempo going throughout. The sound is almost brash at times, similar to the Cherry Bomb era, but so much more polished and structured. At the same time, that sound gets starkly contrasted by some beautiful R&B-ish beats, which really makes the whole album so enjoyable.

One of my all time favorite albums to relax to. Listening to this + texting a girl >>>, it’s an unmatched feeling.

Favorite tracks: All (Pt. 3, Pt. 4, Grand Finale especially)

Lil Wayne - Tha Carter VI

I'm so disappointed, it started with a couple decent songs and then just fell off so insanely hard.

Favorite tracks: Welcome to Tha Carter, Bells, Banned From NO
Least favorite: Loki's Theme, Rari, Mula Komin In, Alone In The Studio With My Gun

I see the vision behind Island Holiday and Peanuts 2 N Elephant though, trust me😭😭

This album is really a full experience. The storytelling is beautiful, and once I started getting into it, I REALLY got into it. It’s such a tragic story, and it’s told fantastically. Aside from that, the production is incredible and compliments the album perfectly.

Favorite tracks: tell me a joke, born yesterday, house settling, fantasyworld
Least favorite: None.

Looping the album left me almost with dread, because I knew what was coming. Born yesterday was not an easy track ... read more

Joey Valence & Brae - NO HANDS

This is the most fun I’ve had listening to an album probably ever. I love the production, so upbeat, enjoyable, and incredibly hard. They don’t take themselves too seriously, and you hear it throughout the entire album.

Favorite tracks: PACKAPUNCH, OK, OMNITRIX
Least favorite: None.

I can’t believe this is one of my favorite albums of the year, at least top 3. It’s almost relieving listening to an album like this, like lifting a weight off your shoulders. This is a ... read more

Kendrick Lamar - GNX

Are we sure he’s past his prime? Because this is pretty good.
He’s been in his prime the last 12 years. People may call it glazing, I call it peak.

This is in my opinion the best produced Kendrick album bar none. He’s always had great production on his tracks but these are the hardest tracks we’ve ever gotten from him. Aside from that the rapping is incredible (as expected) and there are some beautiful moments between the hard hitters.

Favorite tracks: luther, hey ... read more

The Roots - undun

Obviously the main thing to love about this album is the storytelling. In terms of that, this is one of the best albums I’ve listened to. The story is depressing, and the way it’s structured in reverse chronological order makes it even more impactful, as we see the result, and then get pulled into the story of what ultimately led to it.

Favorite tracks: Sleep, Make My, Lighthouse, Tip the Scale
Least favorite: None.

It’s impossible to dislike any track on here, because not ... read more

CHROMAKOPIAAAAA

Edit: Real review

For the last three and a half days since this album was released it’s all I’ve been listening to. I have a tendency to glaze Tyler, but I can’t help it, I’m a humongous fan of his sound. And this is no different. The production is absolutely fantastic, many of Tyler’s best produced tracks are on here.

Favorite tracks: All, but especially Rah Tah Tah; Darling, I; Like Him
Least favorite: None.

Kanye West - Yeezus

This is my favorite Kanye album bar none. It’s very experimental, I can definitely understand why someone would listen to this and not enjoy it, it’s not a simple listen like say The College Dropout.

Favorite tracks: Black Skinhead, New Slaves, Bound 2
Least favorite: None.

Everything works, it’s incredible. I adore every single track. The production is obviously what makes this album peak. 2013 and Kanye decided it was time to revolutionize hip hop. We hear Yeezus ... read more

While going through Kanye’s discography, this is the one I was dreading to listen to again. I heard it a couple times on release and didn’t care for it.

Favorite tracks: STARS, BURN
Least favorite: HOODRAT, KING

BURN is such a great track, it’s the only one that I think is worth listening to from this album. Everything else is skippable, I wish this album didn’t exist.

Kanye West - Donda

Obviously the main gripe is that it’s too long. It’s a shame, because that means it can’t really be enjoyed as an album. If half the tracks had been cut this could have actually been a great album.

Favorite tracks: Off the Grid, Moon, Come to Life
Least favorite: Tell the Vision, Ok Ok pt 2, Junya pt 2

Most of the songs are very good and enjoyable, it’s just because there are so many tracks that I had a hard time being able to remember the good ones. I’m not ... read more

Kanye West - JESUS IS KING

This music might be for some, but not really me. Surprisingly, there are a couple good tracks. But aside from maybe one or two tracks, I’m not going to revisit this project much if at all.

Favorite tracks: Follow God, On God
Least favorite: Water, Hands On

I don’t think this album is awful, its short runtime works as a strength. The blend between hip hop and gospel is creative, but doesn’t work on every track. Some tracks felt a little incomplete, or at least not made as ... read more
