Woah.
This was one of the first rap albums I’ve ever heard. And tbh, it’s an amazing introduction. I remember having this huge ass Rolling Stone top 500 albums book, and this album was at No. 22. Of course I took everything they said seriously (giant mistake) so I had to listen to it. And man, it didn’t disappoint at all. Tons of amazing grooves and bangers from the man himself, Notorious BIG, and also mostly some of the greatest rap hits of the 90s. Thank you Biggie, and ... read more
Fucking terrible.
I don’t know what the hell is wrong with Drake where every time he drops it’s always worse than the last album. This album is boring, sleazy, blandly produced. It’s the audio equivalent of eating raw chicken. It sounds terrible, is bland, and causes salmonella
Least least favorite track: road trips

Seriously one of his best records. Amazing rapping and performances with some of the best production I’ve heard from a modern record. Also not to mention the sampling. The sampling choices are beautiful and creative and never get old to me. This is one of those albums that just gets better as it ages. Peggy’s energy is infectious and makes every listen a vibe. I love this record. It’s easily one of the best of the decade so far.

Super beautiful and jazzy production and sampling. Along with some of the best bars from the goat, Black Thought. I loved a lot of the lyrical themes and beats on this record. And I also loved the DOOM feature. Amazing record.
Really wasn’t impressed with this record. Bruno is one of the most talented vocalists of the past decade and I really loved a lot of his records in the last decade (but of course his last record ‘an evening with silk sonic’ being his best) but I feel this is a huge downgrade. Instead of putting out amazing creative pop hits like he used to, he played in incredibly safe and released his most boring and bland record to date. He brings nothing to the table here.
Boring album with terrible instrumentals. The guitar tone makes me want to bash my head into drywall and not in a good way, and the songs are way too long. I love James Hetfield as a vocalist and I feel this is really where he turned to that shitty radio friendly vocal style. Although I did like their last few records, this album is not it.
I really enjoyed this record. I have it on vinyl and it’s really high quality.
Reviewing all of Alice in Chains’ discography (3/4)
After their crushingly heavy first and second albums, Alice In Chains toned down the heaviness for their 1994 ep, Jar of Flies. Unlike Dirt and Facelift, Jar of Flies is calm, haunting, and slow. Layne Staley’s vocals are more tamed and emotional, while Jerry Cantrell’s guitar work is less complex and technique based and more soulful and harmonic.
Rotten Apple is an amazing way to start the EP. The harmonies on this song ... read more
Alice in Chains’ second studio album is a lot heavier, lyrically and sonically, than their debut, Facelift. And in the process, everything improved dramatically. This album is one of my personal favorites of all time.
Them Bones is a perfect intro. It’s heavy, insanely catchy, and the track is in 7/4 time, so it really stands out from the rest of the album and anything else out there in the 90s.
Dam That River is one of the more fast paced songs on the album. And it’s ... read more
Alice In Chains is one of my favorite bands of all time, and their debut is just as amazing as the rest of the bands material.
Some of the songs on this album are genuinely incredible. For example: Man in the Box is one of their most popular songs. But it’s popular for a reason: this song is incredible. Man in the Box is easily the most well written song on the album along with having some of the best vocals on the album. I just love this song.
The deep cuts aren’t as incredible ... read more
Super nostalgic, an amazing way to end a discography and a legacy.
A decent record. Pretty much a take on greed in the music industry.
Although it’s not as amazing as Wildflowers, it’s definitely way sadder
Fantastic record, has some of my favorite songs ever and a beautiful atmosphere
I love a lot of the songs here. Also Tom’s most controversial album easily
Good album, also has one of my favorite songs like ever so that’s cool I guess yeah
