i rarely come back to review albums here but this album pmo so bad i had to
ive always had a good amount of expectations when joji is dropping something because i really feel like bro has the potential but he should just channel his full efforts into finishing his songs cuz his albums have a handful of great tracks and the rest comes off more as uninspiring filler. that happened again here and its 10 times worse.
the 3 best songs for me on this record are love you less, past wont leave my ... read more

i am a little biased cuz my friend likes this, i think it's alright, a few highlights here and there despite how the lows are only low because they sound very generic. it's pretty much stuff that's radio and social media friendly, so i wouldn't be expecting too much anyway. it's an alright listen, pretty good for what it's trying to do.

revolutionary, this came out in 1998? the atmosphere this album builds is surreal. massive attack is truly one of the best faces of trip-hop and the album is the benchmark for how amazing their discography is, maybe even trip hop as a whole. it's eerie, with tracks like Inertia Creeps and Risingson to emotional and blissful tracks like Teardrop, ending with the surreal Group Four?? how do you make a track sound so violent yet so beautiful at the same time?? definitely one of my most ... read more
this took me a while, i gave it a few relistens to make sure that im not missing on anything based on a lot of positive reviews this EP is receiving. i don't think i was concentrating enough during the first time i heard this, i found some moments to gain my interest but for most it was just draggy and boring. i then decided to give this a listen alone in the dark and it did elevate the listening experience, although im disappointed with how i almost found myself falling asleep a couple of ... read more

the storytelling aspect, greep's vocals, the production, the new sound really stands for its title, delivering an amazing record filled with a ridiculous blend of colorful sounds that does something between a slap and a sloppy make out session with the listener. greep's honest storytelling aspect about falling in love with a prostitute is carried so well that it really provides this album its life, the progression is phenomenal, so effortless and fluid, almost movie-like ... read more
this is what brat wishes it was. my first listen for fka twigs and this is gorgeous!! the album feels so pretty, (though halfway through i feel like it dipped in quality a little in terms of how stimulating it is). it truly is a dynamic listening experience with production styles which are unique and versatile, balancing between lush, atmospheric tracks like Wanderlust and hard hitting ones like Drums of Death. with the only complaint of mine being Childlike Things due to how out of place it ... read more
i didnt know what to expect from this project, i just thought the album artwork is pretty and im glad to say im left satisfied with how pretty this is. it's abstract while not having much vocals, it's mostly carried by interesting instrumentations (which also feels a little all over the place but i dont really mind it much). i love how a handful of moments as a traditional touch to it, I'll Be in Vegas being the highlight of this record for me. overall i think this is a very fun ... read more

i adore the effort put into this, it's not perfect but there's a lot of charm in how the artist put their time for making this cute project. the production quality isn't the best but there's something about it that gives this project its uniqueness and im all in for it. i do feel like it gets a little draggy at some points, making me lose my focus on what im listening to. but overall it's a really adorable project, shuttle station being my most ... read more

i dont listen to trap much it isnt really my cup of tea so im not sure to which extent my opinion could be taken seriously. i find this track alright, it production is great, the song itself is alright it's a great effort. i dont think id come back to this track much but it's a solid 6.5 to a 7 for me.
A great closure to his discography, with a lot of unnecessary tracks getting along the way. Fantastic production, great tracks, almost as good as what he did on After Hours (my personal favorite from him). I was expecting it to be as good as After Hours, and I'd say, it would've been if like half of the tracks are removed. There are great highlights but there are songs which are simply here, having structures that bored me, making me wait for the next one. Nonetheless, it is a good ... read more
What an album. Tragic and agonizing yet hauntingly beautiful. As someone who is so late to the party surrounding Bowie's discography, the idea of this album already saddens me for not listening to his music before. He embraces the idea of death and the idea of what happens after he is gone with such artistry that I feel like trying to explain it with words would undermine how masterful this album is. Rest in peace David Bowie.

Stunning, a project which embraces itself so gracefully to a point where a simple childlike tale could bring someone to tears. Samlrc definitely has taken lots of elements from popular rock albums, a handful of moments reminding me a lot of Ethel Cain, Bjork, Have A Nice Life, etc. But the way it's executed is really worth returning to, one of my huge favourites from 2024.

A one-of-a-kind take on electronic pop music, embracing chaos and noise with a warm, tender approach with pillowy vocals which wraps the whole experience like a hug. While the tracklisting progresses with easily forgettable moments, a solid chunk of tracks stay memorable with their out-of-ordinary approach in terms of soundscape and lyricism. Could be better if all tracks followed a wider perspective in storytelling and song structure, but the few tracks that shine brighter prove ... read more
Interesting soundscapes paired with intoxicatingly deep subs, starts off promising but fails to keep up its momentum. Or maybe it's just me who couldn't find myself being attached to this project as the others with how celebrated this project is, but I kept aching for the songs to grow more as they all felt as if they were cut short. Despite some remarkable moments, I found the majority of the album as incomplete, as if it's missing a huge chunk. Assuming he might have better ... read more
Filled to the brim with love for music, you can hear how much effort and respect this record has for the concept of creating music. Brave Little Abacus is a band with a lot of passion and it shines throughout this project with a remarkable tracklisting, a powerful sense of storytelling and an in-your-face environment of sounds that struck me immediately in my first listen. This is amazing.

The South Korean shoegaze rock scene is honestly one of a kind. This is an interesting project from Asian Glow, embracing noise and variety, forming a solid collage of songs to start the year off with. Despite being a great listen, some moments to outshine others, drowning the pacing of the album subtly, in a way where sometimes I didn't really find myself focusing much while listening, only to have my attention brought back again when it gets better. I don't have much to say about ... read more
No I'm not biased this is really really fucking good. As a huge parannoul fan myself I can't help but struggle to stay calm with how masterful his works are with how After the Magic might just be his best album (Sky Hundred is a very close runner up). It's noisy, chaotic and violent in a way that captures you and drenches you in a bittersweet aching sensation. An album that actually feels like a hug that convinces you that things are gonna be okay which crosses boundaries of ... read more
billiam bob new album! i gave it 4 listens in a row and here's what i think about each track:
SKINNY - really beautiful, the guitars feel soft alongside the low ends, like something out of smoke signals by phoebe bridgers. the production on this is comforting and warm and it left a really wonderful first impression as the opening track to the record. i think the lyrics are pretty okay but the instrumental and the singing carries it for me, and the strings section in the outro is absolutely ... read more
hell fucking yeah i can't stop listening to this, it's loud and chaotic yet full of emotional comfort. i don't even speak korean yet something about this song gives me this bittersweet weight that makes me wanna tear up, thank you for this parannoul :))
