I love this new 70's funk-influenced project. It can feel a bit empty at times, but it never feels boring. Although I don't think this record outshines their previous work, Balming Tiger never disappoints.
This album was a pleasant surprise. I'm not very familiar with Fakemink's sound at all, so I did not know what to expect. I only watched this interview where he said the album was based on horror/exploitation movies, and I was happy to hear that influence in the sounds used in the project. That being said, it is also not as envelope-pushing as he was making it out to be, the influences are pretty clear and it does a good job of mixing certain genres.
