Just starting the album my first impression was "Damn that bass sounds gnarly". DRAIN, more like DRAINing my freaking balls because I likey so much!!
Channel Rot ~ 95 (kind of just an instrumental intro leading up to T.V. Baby, but a good one)
T.V. Baby - 93
Dead Silence - 98
Fucksake - 94
Economy ~ 80-90 (From this point onwards I was studying and couldn't come up with an exact number)
Eggs Laid Brain ~80
Out of the Flesh ~75 (very generic riff, still good, just not as interesting as everything else)
Total Reset - 100
Conducting Experiments ~ High 80's
Gutter Priestess - 98
Trash Classic - 90
The intro on Dirty Air is sooo good, the intros for all of these songs are so good, the guitar sounds so good. Young is very Fiona Apple, which is awesome! I love the vocal layering on this album. I kind of just found this whole album enjoyable and can't really breakdown every reason why. Thumbs up! Breakdance!!! :O
I Hope U Don't Survive - 96
The Third - 95
The Old You -
Is She a Sign ~ 90
The Brain ~ 90
Bourbon Beard - 98
LR72 - 96

Pretty meh compared to flight b741 and petro, but still pretty decent.
This is probably my favorite album of the year. YOU N33D ME is such a silly love song it's impossible for me not to do a little dance every time I hear it. River king is just such a beautiful love song I personally think it's perfect (I've cried to the shrimp sessions IV version). The singles are all so silly and catchy. Overall, five shrimp tattoos out of five!!
I like this album! I like geese! I think they are great! Can we please also shine a bit of this spotlight on some other bands? Like geese isn't the ONLY good rock band rn. I'm happy they've gotten more popular, but the attention they've gotten has been kind of annoying. I want the general public to know that there are lots of great new rock bands and that geese aren't the only amazing band around (even if they are one of the best)
I saw geese live in 2024, they were ... read more
This album is FUN! Literally the perfect road trip/ sing-along album. I'm not going to rate the songs individually because most of them just feel like one big song, but I do have my favorites.
Favorites: Pash Rash, Staring 0ut the Window at Your Old Apartment, Rainbow, Planet Luxury, and ....While You're Alive
I don't really understand why 'the spiritual sound' (the track) is rated so low. It's nothing special, it's literally only a transition between songs, but it's not annoying, it doesn't take me out of the experience, it serves it's purpose. I kind of think it was made with different types of listeners in mind, people can enjoy the album and get a little break between songs, and people listening to the 'serenity' by itself won't be forced to ... read more
Very much happy to own this on vinyl, absolutely gorgeous album. Adrianne lenker is a gem, one of the greatest songwriters of this generation, if not ever. Something I love about big thief is their chemistry, because everyone serves a purpose and leaves a unique feeling on me. Adrianne's voice is so soothing and complimentary to the sound of the music. Buck is an amazing guitarist too with an amazing tone. James plays somewhat off beat, but on beat at the same time. I really don't know how to ... read more
I'm not a fan of the noise genre at all, and I know I'm not the demographic for this record, but this is noise wall done right. It feels much more three dimensional than other projects I've heard within the genre. Even though it's pretty choppy, the orchestration brings a GYBE vibe I really like. I feel hopelessness like I do on f# a# infinity, cool record you guys 👍.
I first off want to say how much I love the album cover. God damn does it ever encapsulate the sound of this album perfectly, but also look cool af. First song is one banger of an intro, and I'm happy it was the first song I've heard by them. 'Be Cadaver' chug chug chug chug. 'Red Feasts Condensed Into One' is yet another banger. It was the first song that really gave me goosebumps. Dudes vocals are chilling to the bone in the best way possible for this type of doom metal. The standout on this ... read more
Very fun EP, it's super short but that doesn't take away from this record in the slightest. I think this project is amazing and really great for small breaks between classes. My only problem is that I don't really remember any of it once it's done. I can remember my favorite tracks, but can't fully remember how they go until I listen again. This project has been in rotation quite a lot recently, I don't think it's super duper innovative or doing anything new ... read more
Stars is actually pretty decent, it surprised me. It sounds good but it also sounds like I've heard it on at least 2 other ye albums. I don't know how to describe it, it just somewhat sounds like an extra off of Donda. The second track had me bleeding out the ears for most of it, but some parts were listenable. "Paid" is super basic, Kanye is not the innovative man you think he is. Absolutely a snooze fest. Honestly though, Ye is rich and I understand only making that song for his ... read more
Overall quite solid for background music, it really reminds me of f# a# infinity. I like it, but I'd rather listen to a full GYBE album. I've added a few songs I really liked to a playlist, but I don't think I'll return to the full album very soon.
