This album got me into fully instrumental, modern music, and given I mostly like lyrical music those are big words. Plus the fact how modern this is despite being made in 1992, I enjoyed every single track and it's the go-to when you want to desconnect while listening to some good ass music.
It's clear that rock music isn't the same as it was before, but with this project (and some others I didn't mention) it's clear that there may be some hope for quality rock in the future. This project brings rock music that can at the same time be wild and sensitive and managed to create a whole sonic world, it's impressive and gives a lot of hope that a group of people born in 2002 could make this music. It's incredibly fun and at the same time it made me cry at ... read more
Where do I even start.
- Every single time Don Toliver has released a new album, there was a new style or theme to it, this is the first time I've listened to one of his albums and felt like there was no theme whatsoever to this album despite the goofy images with scientists in the "rollout"
- Despite me and some others being frustrated that Don Toliver didn't go the distance with the style he took with good tracks like "BANDIT" and "TORE UP" in his ... read more
My favourite Death Grips album so far and probably the best album they have ever released if it wasn't because this album doesn't experiment as much as their other albums. I would like to say that compared to all their previous work this all sounds a lot better mixed which kinda helps it being more accesible for everyone. Also I particularly loved this album because even though I love all their other projects, this is the one which sounds the most refreshing to me, I could really ... read more
Easily Cole's best work to date, I always liked the person he is but this is genuinely the first time since "Saturday Night Lights" that he has given his all for music. Tracks without genuinely thoughtful writing are ALMOST nowhere to be found, also I think I found J Cole giving a better use to his singing verses instead of some of the lame sung songs he did in the past. The production here is his best production ever no debate and in my opinion, and even if some didn't like ... read more
It's really difficult to do a rap album of this style nowadays given what the actual tendencies are, but Rome Streetz sounds almost comfortable rapping over this sound that is twice as grimy as what Griselda have already been doing. The really few weaknesses of this project are not because of this rapper, and he isn't playing around neither.

Houston rapper and producer Travis Scott doesn't level up his songwriting in the album that offers the most polished, dark and beautiful musical landscapes of his whole career.

Upcoming rapper, singer and producer from the UK Jim Legxacy manages to make a mixtape that sounds like a radio when it's just him due to his talent. The emotional density and the bold mixture of genres he made sound great here make me feel nothing but excited for the music he could bring to us in the future.

You know the album is good when the craziest samples and the wildest vocals sum up to be a chaos that is somehow organized. And we still can't hear some work that sounds remotely close to this one. Classic.
I don't think this album is mindblowing at all and I could see why many people wouldn't consider this worth the 8 years wait but I think it's a really good album nonetheless, mostly because Rocky managed to step out of his same old style with a much more organized effort compared to his previous studio album Testing, all while printing his personality on his music more than ever, being succesful with the message of his album. This album falters (mostly) where the experimentation ... read more
