SZA is one of those artists you hear a lot about, but I’ve never listened to anything by her until now, which was a mistake; this is pretty great.
Easily the best part is the vocals. She has an amazing voice, but the way she uses it might be even better. She experiments with her delivery throughout the album, resulting in a super-engaging listening experience. Songwriting-wise, it’s also really good. I like the themes of self-acceptance and love.
My only complaint is that it does fall off ever so slightly after track 4.
Overall, pretty great.
