It’s not just that it’s gorgeously composed and staggeringly well produced- both of which, it is- but it’s also so surprising. On the 1st listen, on the 5th listen, on the 20th, it’s entirely fresh and interesting. When your favorite artist drops what might be your new favorite song by them- it is a good day.
Some guaranteed misses in a 30 song tracklist but the hits are transcendent reminders of why carti has lasted so long. Still mad he named my favorite song “Fine Shit” 😐
Edit: I bought into the hype. Still some good songs but I’m finding myself struggling to find anything I actually want to revisit while looking at the tracklist. Still a big fan but this wasn’t worth the wait.
