Gunna is an artist that can be good in small doses, but not somebody I want to listen to for an entire album. So I thought maybe this collab tape could be good. Then I saw it was with Lil Baby. Unfortunately, I don’t like Lil Baby that much. I was just expecting some good production and occasionally a decent hook or flow.

“Off White VLONE” has decent production and an ok hook. I was kinda liking the song until I heard Lil Durk’s rape lyrics which were ridiculous. NAV also sucks on this song. “Business is Business” has a pretty good hook from Gunna and a decent instrumental. I think the slower tempo instrumental on “Belly” is decent, but neither Gunna nor Lil Baby do anything with it. “Deep End” has interesting production but Lil Baby sounds terrible on the track. “World Is Yours” is ok production wise, but Gunna delivers another boring performance. “Underdog” isn’t good. The beat is alright but Gunna & Lil Baby don’t do anything. “I Am” is another boring track with decent production but nothing else remotely interesting other than an ok Lil Baby hook. “Seals Pills” has a cool instrumental, but the mix is atrocious. Literally sounds terrible. Young Thug is the highlight of “My Jeans”. The production isn’t that good and Gunna & Lil Baby sound like they’re trying to impersonate Thugger. “Style Stealer” has a good beat but the hook is really just not good. I actually prefer the solo Lil Baby track “Close Friends” as it’s one of the better tracks on the project. I like the moody beat and I think Lil Baby actually comes through with a nice hook and a song that actually sticks to a topic. “Drip Too Hard” is legitimately a very good song. Great beat that’s very catchy and great performances from Gunna and Lil Baby. “Never Recover” is very generic, but it’s one of the better songs. Drake and the beats re the highlights, as Gunna and Lil Baby are boring once again.

Drip Harder is a boring, one dimensional album. While I usually find Gunna boring, I find Lil Baby even more boring. I definitely didn’t need an entire project from them. The production isn’t anything special and it’s certainly not amazing, but it’s definitely the highlight. While they can sometimes string together a good song or a catchy hook here and there, this project is just boring. Not terrible, but not necessarily any good either.
