Extended Review #1 | Imaginal Disk
What I consider to be one of the few perfect albums. Despite not being a short project by any means, there is literally not a single bad song on this record. Sure, few of them truly blow away your mind like some of the tracks on other albums ive given 10's such as "To Pimp a Butterfly" or "The College Dropout".
Instead, it plays around with this super unique atmosphere that I only really see in itself and "Let's Start ... read more
Yeah this shit is kinda ass. It's not even like I'm trying to hate on the underground or anything, if anything I love the music that comes out of it. The only thing is that I feel like all of these people are such bad picks and they could do so much better with the roster. None of these people actually have an original sound- the only person on here that has actually distinct music with his own personality is surprisingly 2slimey (and matt proxy), not to even say that his music is ... read more
Yeah it's not the best stuff ever, but to be fair to it, it's not trying to all that great. It's just 2 friends having fun rapping over other peoples beats, and some of it is still pretty good, especially the remix of Murda Music by Ken Carson.
It's nice to see how much ezcodylee has improved since this, which was only around 3 years ago, and now he dropped one of the best rage / rap-rock albums of all time in STUNT 4 LIFE. On this, his vocal style wasn't really ... read more
Not spanish. Like at all, might know a couple sentences or so, could maybe ask for directions and name the numbers 1 through to like 20. For that reason, I've never really absorbed myself in the world of Spanish music, or anything else for that matter besides a few outliers like LUX by Rosalia.
I saw the cover for this when I was looking at some other random artist, I think maybe Egobreak? And that cover intrigued the hell out of me. "Plugg Park 1 y 2"? The title was even ... read more
One of the most uniquely atmospheric albums I have ever listened to.
"London's Saviour" by fakemink has been on my mind for a while now. It's topped my recently played whenever i'm walking anywhere at night or when it's dark out, and the general addictiveness of the music keeps me wanting to play it more.
Firstly, the vocals on the album, specifically the way fakemink annunciates words captures me. His accent is unlike most accents i've heard especially in the ... read more
Across this release, Che explores a relatively new deep voice. And i mean like really fucking deep - to the point where it doesn't even sound like it comes from a real person. I'll be honest, i'm not a huge fan of it.
Everything sounds good, the production matches his voice in being deep and aggressive, still with the natural almost rock/metal guitars paired with the heavy 808s that Che loves using, and on the production side of it I don't really have any complaints
