My second favourite Chevelle album. So damn catchy, every song (that has one) has an extremely catchy chorus. Though I like WWN more than this, in some moments I enjoy it more than WWN. The guitars are brilliant and catchy too, albeit a bit of a weaker performance than in WWN.
"Roswell's Spell" is easily my favourite in terms of the vocal performance, there is a certain verse that reminds me of a song by Speedy Ortiz (I think "No Below" is the song, amazing track btw), who I reckon took influence from this song, perhaps.
The first half of Sci-Fi Crimes is so strong; on my first listen of "Sleep Apnea" I loved it, the rest took 1-2 more listens to love. "Sleap Apnea" is pretty underappreciated. Of all the songs though, I'd say "Jars" has the best chorus, it absolutely deserves the high praise.
