Immortal Technique has the potential to be a top 10 rapper of all time, I just wish so badly that he'd fully commit to his conscious political side instead of taking the occasional detour by making tracks that are just 3-4 minutes of braggadocious immature shit-talking. But admittedly, this could actually kinda work, cuz again I think Immortal Technique has the wordplay & penmanship to be considered a top 10 rapper of all time, but pretty much every single time he steps into this ... read more
Definitely some strong songs but as a whole definitely overrated. I've always felt Kanye is just decent as a rapper but as a producer he is phenomenal, & in my opinion that idea describes this album to a tee. The production on this album deserves all the praise it gets, it is phenomenal, save for a handful of moments like the distorted outro for Runaway going on for a minute or so too long in my opinion. I cannot express how crazy it is that with how consistently GOATed RTJ's discography is, this somehow manages to still easily be their best work as a full cohesive narrative & listening experience. I would say I cannot wait to see how they keep up this trajectory with RTJ5, but tbh I'm a little anxious because I truly feel they can only keep getting better & better so much. They're hogging up all the GOATedness & there's not much of it left for them to grasp ... read more
Lowkey a little disappointed. This record is still good, but I definitely find it underwhelming. For how dark & personal this album is meant to be I also feel there's a ... read more
I love Action Bronson, but this is a disappointing first major label release. Some really strong cuts with really good production, such as Actin Crazy, Terry, & Easy Rider. Unfortunately had a bit too many skits & filler tracks that really mess with the replayability of this whole album. He'd go on to release a better & more cohesive album with Blue Chips 7000 but unfortunately wouldn't reach the same levels he achieved on Dr Lecter.
