Definitely some strong songs but as a whole definitely overrated. I've always felt Kanye is just decent as a rapper but as a producer he is phenomenal, & in my opinion that idea describes this album to a tee. I cannot express how crazy it is that with how consistently GOATed RTJ's discography is, this somehow manages to still easily be their best work as a full cohesive narrative & listening experience. Lowkey a little disappointed. This record is still good, but I definitely find it underwhelming. The production is mostly good but I feel like for how much of a personal & cerebral & melancholic album this is from Tyler I feel the beats on most songs are a bit underwhelming & could really use some sort of crescendo within them to really elevate Tyler's messages & send them all the way home. I love Action Bronson, but this is a disappointing first major label release. Some really strong cuts with really good production, such as Actin Crazy, Terry, & Easy Rider. Unfortunately had a bit too many skits & filler tracks that really mess with the replayability of this whole album. He'd go on to release a better & more cohesive album with Blue Chips 7000 but unfortunately wouldn't reach the same levels he achieved on Dr Lecter.
