in contrast to smithereens being horribly short, this album almost felt bloated. i enjoyed the whole thing, but there were so many short songs to the point where it doesn't leave you much time to connect with any specific one. but like i'll eat up joji's sound any day, so whatever i like it!!!

folky trans guy with a beautiful voice, I AM IMMEDIATELY SOLD! had me wanting to tear up at several moments and i honestly can't pinpoint why. just kinda music that i Felt. and awesome album cover too

he tells his story super beautifully here, and it really hits me when layered with all of this flashy production that i would argue (totally definitely unbiased) is the best he's ever rapped on. amazing curation of artists and producers that bring in a wide variety of voices to go alongside his.

sometimes you hit an awful low and everything feels like you're 14 again and you gotta revisit this album. i haven't listened to this in many years, but it was my favorite for a while.
on a relisten, it's not perfect, but i think its rawness and perhaps overly cheesy/motivational writing provides a source of comfort that i needed both then and now.
