I find it anomalous how I'm the only one who seems to be completely blown away with how lush and emotive this album is! One thing is for certain: The Kids & Me puts the "fun" in funky!!! (Corny line but hear me out). The astoundingly well-written grooves are the backbone and main draw of this album. The Peggy album that has it all: hardcore punk-inspired bangers, woozy tracks with gospel vocals, an Olive Delights sample, and tons, no really, TONS of sound effects. His scattershot approach to "Experimental Rap" as he's dubbed it (and proclaimed himself king) works out quite often, with many of the tracks creating insane energy through brilliantly chopped-up samples and hard-hitting percussion.
I enjoy the marching band and punk rock-inspired drumlines, as well as how Peggy ... read more
