Aaron Frazer - Introducing...
79

First 80+ of the year! On this debut, Aaron Frazer displays a unique, sweet charm interwoven into his silky falsetto that I find really endearing. The production on this album is exquisite as well, but the real difference maker is Frazer's unique voice and ear for melody. Very excited to see where his career goes.

Barry Gibb - Greenfields: The Gibb Brothers Songbook, Vol. 1
50

I was really curious about this record, especially since the feature list was a hodge-podge of artists I really like and artists I almost never listen to. Ultimately, I didn’t like this as much as I was hoping to; Gibb’s vocal style simply doesn’t fit these organic country arrangements at all in my opinion, even if the songwriting is pretty good.

Viagra Boys - Welfare Jazz
45

I think this album achieves the rough-around-the-edges aesthetic it’s looking for, but I think the band might have sacrificed any interesting grooves or well-written songs in the process.

Steve Earle - J.T.
64

A perfectly fine tribute to JTE, and one you can tell Steve took a lot of care in making. I probably won't revisit much of this over the originals, but it was still perfectly enjoyable, and "Last Words" is a true gutpunch of a song.

Yung Pinch - WASHED ASHORE
35

Yung Pinch is such a black hole on the mic, constantly sucking up anything that could even be considered intriguing, and the production on this tape is the most basic acoustic-laden trap you could come up with, leading to a listening experience that is just a whole lot of bleh.
