So let’s go straight into this album.
The concept of this album is the dichotomy between wickedness and weakness, which is also why there’s another version of this album with the tracklist inverted, and I’ve always found this idea really intriguing.
Every song can be reconducted to one of those paths, but it’s not really easy to always understand if a song tends more towards weakness or wickedness.
Anyway despite this subdivision, the tracklist is really well balanced ... read more
Oh hell yeah…Kanye fucking cooked on this one.
It’s probably necessary to listen to this more than once to fully appreciate it, but it’s definitely worth it, because it’s a very unique and experimental project even for Kanye standards.
The productions are experimental, industrial and chaotic and they hit really hard in every single track, specially in songs like “Black Skinhead”, “I Am A God” and “New Slaves”.
While Kanye is just ... read more
Best Metro Boomin project in my opinion and it's pretty obviously why.
The production are amazing, the transitions are even better and every artist on this record gave his contribution.
Well, almost everyone, because Chris Brown was kinda unncessary and the whole song with Gunna was useless.
I was also surprised by that Homelander speech in the first track, but it makes the song even better.
Surprisingly Offset dropped a good album this year, and I hope he keep improving for his next projects.
Needless to say "Bodies" is the best song, and except for probably Ty Dolla $ign all the features are pretty much good.
It's overall enjoyable, but it has too many fillers in the second part for me.
Hungry Cole really hits different.
This is probably his best project and there's not much to say, becasue who am I to critique J. Cole rapping his ass off for 20 songs?
Probably no one.
But I still think that "In The Morning" wasn't really necessary.
Not the biggest Travis fan, but this album actually slaps, and listening to it at night it's a whole another experience.
The production gives an incredible psychedelic atmosphere to pretty much every song, and it really feels like going through some kind of drug trip, really immersive.
All the features are crazy and I was honestly surprised to see Justin Bieber fitting so well with Travis and Thug.
It's kinda hard to choose the best tracks, so I'll just say that ... read more
Love the west coast sound on this album and the fact that this is basically a victory lap after the diss.
It's a bit weaker compared with his previous four projects but I don't really care about that.
All the songs are pretty much bangers, and I hope to see Kendrick doing more collaboration with these LA underground rappers because they really have a good chemistry together.
That said I really believe we needed a to hear a victory lap like this.
This is my least favorite Kanye album from the trilogy despite, being his first project I've listened to. It's more commercial than the previous two, and this is probably not a negative aspect after all, because it's probably the best album if you want to start listening to his discography. I almost forgot to say that tracks like "Good Morning", "I Wonder", "Everything I Am" and "Homecoming" are not only incredible hits, but also very ... read more
Slightly better than the previous album, and here Kanye shows his ability to create a cohesive project, capable of covering even more serious topics while still making hits.
The original cover will always be better than the new one, so I hope it changes it back.
Anyway, I've always found this album really interesting because of its experimental and creative sound, even if there are a few weaker tracks.
Overall I think it's probably Rocky's best project.
( I still hope Don't be dumb drops before I die of old age)
This was the first kendrick album I listened to years ago and it completely exceeded any expectation I had.
The storytelling is simply amazing, and you can never get bored, even during the longer tracks. Not to mention that pretty much all of the tracks are still absolute bangers .
Really a life changing album.
