Yes it’s silly at times, but as a whole, the album is not bad. There are some really good tracks and honestly underrated lyrics like the song “Have You Ever.” Also, the song “The Kids Aren’t Alright” has a message that still hits hard today. I feel like taking a few songs and deciding that the album is just a dumb, silly, not serious record, is just plain unfair. Moving on, a of these songs (“Staring At The Sun,” “Americana,” etc) have ... read more
Definitely the offsprings worst album. Pretty generic tracks and really boring and terrible ideas. Not to mention the song “We Never Have Sex Anymore,” which is probably the worst song they have ever made, both lyrically and musically. I mean I get that’s it’s kind of like a joke track like their other records have, but it is just so bad it’s not even funny. Pretty good album. Definitely Franz Ferdinand’s best. It’s got good guitar riffs/melodies and is catchy. My biggest problem with this, and Franz Ferdinand as the band itself, is the lyrics. They are always boring and repetitive. But if you don’t care about stuff like that, then go ahead, listen to it, it’s enjoyable. I certainly can get past them.

My opinion? This is muse’s best album. Yes, origin of symmetry and absolution are good, but they and a lot of muse’s music don’t really hit with me. They feel like they are missing something to make it complete, or that oomph I want from music. Fortunately, this album doesn’t feel that way. I find myself coming back a lot more to this than a lot of other things in muse’s discography. This record is just a little more appealing. The instrumentation is great on songs ... read more
