Yep, Mitski absolutely did her thing here. People needed to give this time to grow because I did and wow some of these songs are genuinely amazing.

After 2 weeks, I'm back, and with this new hemlocke springs! I'm a huge fan of synthpop and dancepop so when I saw this front page I was very excited to get to it. Then...other things got in the way but I'm here!

God, this album is an acid trip and a half.
I cannot even begin to explain my thoughts on the album, there is so much to debrief, process, describe, and I just can't. The sound is so unlike anything I've listened to and the album being in a foreign language does not help my confusion, but I'll try my best to describe my feelings during this review.

I'm very conflicted on my feelings about this album! So I will just spill my thoughts and see if anything productive comes out of it.
First of all, production is king on this new femtanyl. It's easily the best aspect of the album, paired along with the most consistent as well. I was very excited for this to release because after brat (like many people) I fell in love with Charli's music and then her first project after brat is a soundtrack for a late-1700's based movie that utilizes strings??? Wow you never get what you expect but I would say it works out for her here.
