Two 10/10's in two days?! What a riot!
A deliciously dark and beautiful sappy love album all encased in some synthpop dance banging production. This album delves deep into the ideas of romance and love, but in a way that I find unique. Martin Gore, 1/2 of Depeche Mode, even said that songs like Blue Dress, were perverted, but that's what love feels like it's become. I mean imagine, the thing that really makes the world go round, is a woman getting dressed. It's odd, and ... read more
That live performance was HEAT!!
Vince Staples rocks out with a dire call to action of America. Not only is it a reflection of the terrible and ugly past we've had with oppression and racism, but also a lookout of current issues like screen addiction, gun violence, and the evil figurehead of our nation. This year, we've had rappers come out with albums that scream about these issues, but none of them rock like this. There is not a single miss on the whole record, and the rapping here ... read more
The cover was me while listening, but I was giggling while boogying
Such a vibe! LCD Soundsystem creates an extremely inventive and homemade sounding album that just screams "just dance and forget about it!" and we're forgetting a bit in this day and age, so it's quite refreshing. The production is unique and fun, and doesn't work sometimes, but does quite often. I don't mind the change in length of the songs; other than I want Drunk Girls to be as long as ... read more
This album is so upbeat sounding, but this album makes me really quite sad and I don't know why
Well, I know that a lot of it's coming from the themes of the album. Even though the Neighborhood feels like a mystical and forgotten place, it's also drenched in a lot of reality with themes like costs of exploration and failures to hide one's true self/feelings. Arcade Fire crafted this to be deep while feeling like it's lifting you up instead of dragging you into an ... read more
Unfortunately, I don't care too much about not having any recess... not relatable 0/10
Alright so I'm going to be listing to Nirvana in a chroniclogical order instead of picking the best or the most popular choices. Unfortunately, we're just starting with a not-too special album from them. The music here is composed fine, with really good guitar riffs and interesting singing, but the tracklist is very spotty and the lyrical content seems weird and bland at the exact same time. ... read more
My first Pink Floyd album... look how far we've come
Meddle is a very odd experience. Not the fact that the music itself is that strange, as a matter of fact it's quite easy to listen to. However, the songs shift extremely drastically in length and vibe and often don't work together as good as possible. The track list is very consistent, and the metaphor lyrics and lush soundscapes are what make this album truly special. I found that Echoes was a very good track, just one ... read more
