I feel like I'll always love Willoughby Tucker at this rate. Pitchfork talks about Cain's albums as though the heavy emphasis on ambience, aesthetics and emotional structure (or structurelessness) is some kind of disadvantage. It sucks, guys. And that's ok. Plenty of great music came out this year not by the Swift machine...
Firstly an 89 in my book is like a 94+ elsewhere because I stretch out 90-100 to give me more room at the top (I certainly don't need it at the bottom)

I'm not sure I can say anything about this album that hasn't already been said many times. What I can say is that this album/project has done what all truly great music (any medium but music is my main jam) can do: sing its 'song' so clearly that my ears resonate, my heart vibrates, my soul recognizes, and my mind actually stops.
