SZA - Ctrl
85

Ctrl is the debut album by singer SZA, a neo soul and R&B project that contains various elements from hip hop, electronic music, indie and soul. Lyrically, the album revolves around a confessional theme, portraying topics relating to the relationships and personal complexities of modern love, including desire, competition, jealousy, sexual rules, social media and low self-esteem.

SZA - SOS
80

SOS is a very clear double sided coin. On one side are forgettable songs that don’t really stick and too much bloat. On the other side however, there are some insane high points with beautiful instrumentals and singing attached to them. Given how long it is your first listen of SOS will essentially just be a search for which songs you actually return to.

Roddy Ricch - Please Excuse Me for Being Antisocial
80

I fell in love with this album when I gave it a full listen (Other then The Box). Every track grew on me one track at a time, and for the time being if it was still like that I would've rated this album a 10/10. I still think this is the best way this album could've came out, debuting at #1 for 4 weeks in a row on Billboard 200 and one of the most iconic songs on the album of time in rap history, The Box.

Eminem - The Marshall Mathers LP
90

Eminem’s The Marshall Mathers LP is not just a milestone in hip-hop; it’s a cultural artifact that encapsulates a specific moment in time, marked by Eminem’s meteoric rise to fame and the controversies that surrounded him. Released in 2000, the album is as much a deep dive into Eminem’s psyche as it is a scathing critique of the world around him. With its blend of raw emotion, biting humor, and technical mastery, it set a new standard for what a rap album could be.

50 Cent - Get Rich or Die Tryin'
80

50 Cent's sudden appearance after this album is baffling to me. Curtis was your average gangster Queens, New York, but after being shot 9 times, he created this album. 50 cent might be extremely overrated as a rapper but this as good as it gets for a gangster rap album in the 2000s.

Juice WRLD - The Party Never Ends
40

Juice WRLD's team continues to tarnish Juice's legacy by creating another half-assed album. I feel like this album is a full waste of time to listen to.

yvngxchris - excuse me?
87

Yvngxchris shows a lot of potential from this song, lyrically this song is pretty good.

MF DOOM - MM..FOOD
90

As criminally underrated MF DOOM really is this is one of the best hip hop albums of its time. Throughout its humorous time of 48 minutes of calming, unique, and legendary beats that makes this albums originality even more amazing. Daniel manages to speak bad about modern artists and still making his music sound.

Kanye West - Yeezus
85

This is Kanye’s 6th studio album, I personally like this album a lot mainly because of how different it is compared to his past projects, not like MBDTF but like a major electronic and equalizer sounding album. This album is quite interesting with its sounds but manages to still be a good album of the 2010s. Yeezus peaked at #1 on the billboard 200 two weeks after release.
BEST TRACKS: On Sight, Bound 2.

Kendrick Lamar - To Pimp a Butterfly
100

(Track 1), Wesley's Theory, 10/10, This is one of the best intros i've heard to a rap album in a long while, the chaos between the song, lyricism and everything that makes this song a classic all comes together.

(Track 2), For Free? - Interlude, 9.5/10, The transition from Wesley's Theory to For Free is an amazing switch to the next track. Kendrick speaking fast about his life throughout childhood, mid-life, women problems, and being poor for most of his life are the things that ... read more

Kendrick Lamar - GNX
90

An unexpected Kendrick drop, and he delivered. After the beef with Drake, Kendrick drops a west coast rap album, in his style of course. Its quite rare to see a rapper have a consistent discography with good music every album.

Tyler, The Creator - CHROMAKOPIA
75

This is Tyler's 7th studio album, and unfortunately this album was way too overhyped. I personally love most of Tyler's music but throughout his past 3 must hears this album feels too rushed in my opinion, like he could've spent more time on it. Even I was too hyped for this project. I listened to this album 22 seconds after release and 1 hour before school. I had heard that this album was projected to be rap album of the year. I personally think that if Tyler had spent another ... read more

Tyler, The Creator - Goblin
50

The rebellious creator of Odd Futures first album ever created since his first mixtape "BASTARD." as you would expect, this is before 2017's "Flower Boy" so he's screaming in every single song, except for Yonkers, and She (feat. Frank Ocean). I really dont have anymore words for this album.

Future - WE DON'T TRUST YOU
80

This album is one of the best rap albums of 2024, personally I love this album a lot because of its uniqueness of the best producer and beat maker in the world and Future's mesmerizing voice and lyrics. The albums features also add up to its full greatness. I've seen a lot of critics rate this album a 6/10 without hesitation, but my honest opinion on this album is amazing.

¥$ - VULTURES 2
25

Well, Kanye managed to do the impossible and make an album worse then Vultures 1. This album is genuinely terrible, no joke I don't know how you can even look at this album and think it's good to release to the public. It has everything that Vultures 1 did wrong but there are no decent hits on this album. This album also stores what many say Kanye's worst song ever created "BOMB" which the best way to describe this song is a lot of sampled Japanese singing and ... read more

Kendrick Lamar - DAMN.
80

Kendrick executes this album perfectly by dying at the beginning of the first track then going through multiple sins of the bible throughout the whole album. I would consider this album a Man vs God approach.
Original rating: 10/10.
New rating 8/10.

This album could not get any worse. This album proves that Kanye is at his lowest possible point in living and musically. The album is incredibly poorly produced with each song from both Ty and Kanye sounding bland. I could not imagine post College Dropout Kanye or even Graduation Kanye to even think of releasing such a poorly made album. The album cover also adds on that Kanye oversexualizes his wife by having her almost naked in the album cover. This album peaked at #1 in the world in ... read more

Kanye West - Late Registration
100

The 2nd album of the college trilogy, this album was formerly my favorite Kanye album before Graduation and The College Dropout. Every song including the skits counts making this album another one of Kanye’s masterpieces. This Album peaked at #1 in the world in 2005.

Kendrick Lamar - Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers
90

Kendrick released this album 5 years after DAMN. He explains throughout the album how he struggles with suicide after the release of DAMN. Kendrick explains the close call of the divorce with his wife. Kendrick describes how this album is a Man vs Self situation. Every song on this album hits like crazy just like all of his other albums.
