Boards of Canada - Tomorrow's Harvest

No matter how desolate and inevitable things can get. Beauty can exist even through the darkest times. The world may be decaying. The life it once had is on its last limb. But the sun still shines over everything.

Definitely their most peaceful and gentle but still has that bit of uncanny melancholy that really makes this group stand out over other acts of their kind. Honestly, probably the album of theirs that makes me the most emotional, especially with the last few tracks. While there's a sense of hope in some of the earlier tracks, things get more reflective as it legitimately feels like saying goodbye to a major part of your life, whether that be your childhood or the death of a loved one, etc. ... read more

No album will ever be as important to the fundamental growth of my taste in music and art in general. Truly the first "unconventional" album to really alter my perspective on what music could be. This was kind of a comfort soundtrack to me as I got into this shortly after moving out and living on my own for the first time. Dealing with the hectic nature and stress of being a brand new adult, it led to me finding solace in the cold, empty world that this album creates perfectly in the ... read more

This is at least an 80 just with the title track alone. Like, the whole reason I even got into this band in the past was because of it. So ending my Kraftwerk revisit with this just felt right. I probably take back what I said about TEE because this is definitely their most atmospheric record. Pretty much as good as I ... read more

An album that thrives in the format, making for such a wild, nostalgic adventure. Seamless transitions galore and very spiky, peak 2010s aesthetic production that really rams home the idea of just making the music you love. As someone who also makes his own music, it's honestly pretty relatable. Yep. This one is a total banger, folks.
