I honestly did not expect to like this album as much as I did, considering I felt like Scarlet fell quite flat, for me. With that behind her, I think Doja Cat showed signs of creativity and uniqueness on Vie. I was pleasantly surprised at some of her tracks that showcased her ability to switch up her flows and adapt her vocals to match the vibes of each different beat. I was impressed at her making an older pop-ish sound feel modern in her own way, although I would have rather her just rapped ... read more
The return of Adam Gontier to Three Days Grace provided an interesting wrinkle in Alienation, with he and Matt Walst sharing vocal duties. I think it ultimately worked out in the groups' favor, as they ended up putting together TDG's best project in over a decade. I see people knocking the band for their cheesy and basic lyrical work, which is fine, I guess, but they've always been that way. Another quality album from The Hives, hitting all the highs we've known them for over the years while displaying tons of maturity as a group.
A bit all over the place and chaotic, but it does occasionally come together for some solid parts.
It's kind of crazy to me that this is only Cardi B's second album. It stinks, unfortunately, but I was just surprised it took seven years to get another album.
Violent Nature has a few hits, but not enough for me to think anything crazy highly of I Prevail's newest album.
Gallows is giving pretty heavy basic metalcore vibes, I unfortunately can't really say I am a fan.
A little hit or miss at times, but Magnolia Park's VAMP is a decent album with a couple hits sprinkled in.
OKAY Skrillex my bad for sleeping. I thought this was going to be washed Skrillex so I put off listening to it forever. That's on me. This is really solid.
Offset left me with a good bit to like on KIARA, but also dropped a few lows in this album that do bring its overall quality down. While the production is quite good, I felt like the album dragged a bit towards the middle and even really up until Prada Myself, where I think we do enter a really solid ending run. Offset's flows and lyrics are fun and overall enjoyable despite a feeling of repetitiveness as the album went on. Still, though, there's a few tracks I'm going to be ... read more
If Nevermore is a really creative effort from Sub Urban, I just felt a whole lot of nothing from this album vocally. I get the production is the driving factor of what makes this album work, I just don't like the vocals much at all and it detracts quite a bit from my experience.
