Unfortunately, I think we are looking at grandson's weakest album in his discography so far. From a creativity standpoint, I think this is easily grandson's most stagnant project. While the instrumentals in most of the tracks are really solid, I feel like the message never really changes. It's a good one, in spurts, but it feels like he's regurgitating the same thoughts and recycling the same mindset over and over again and it starts to get repetitive after a while.

This was my introduction to Beauty School Dropout and, while I can say this project was solid overall, they were fairly hit or miss for me throughout this album, definitely with more misses than hits as the album went along. Quality wise, I definitely think my enjoyment tailed off towards the end. As someone else put it in their review, I think calling the majority of tracks in this album generic is a good description. FEVER is a song that will get a lot of plays from me, though.
Although there's nothing we haven't heard before sonically, Black Honey's new album still provides plenty of fun moments that keep me invested.
As if Short n' Sweet wasn't bland enough, Sabrina Carpenter takes her monotonous and dull sound to another level in Man's Best Friend. Sabrina has made a name for herself in mainstream pop from being constantly horny and working it humorously into her music. It was endearing at first, but never really consisted of all that much quality. Now, however, it's just gotten old and stale and become more of an annoyance than it is charming. If she mixed those kinds of tracks in with ... read more
Lonely At The Top is a pretty solid album for Joey Badass' discography, but I just can't shake the feeling that there's something missing here that could push this to a great album. His flow is always really solid, but I think the substance he raps about in his songs is just not what it used to be.
WSG might be the king of 7/10 albums. He rarely blows me away, but it's always really solid
I am never shy in claiming that Hayley Williams is the greatest female vocalist in the history of rock music, and it seems like every time she's at the forefront of new music, she validates my claim again and again. It's amazing that Hayley has been making music now for over two decades and I can still find myself blown away by her songwriting abilities. In what may be Hayley's most uniquely experimental album to date, including with Paramore, she dives deep into some of the ... read more
Unfortunately, Different Night Same Rodeo is quite a step down from his debut album that I already thought was just okay at best. Bailey Zimmerman sounds a bit unorganized on this record and it leaves me unable to really focus.
Deftones' new record has a little too much filler for me to consider it one of the top albums of 2025, but they are absolutely more locked in more often than not throughout private music.
I heard and read a lot of hype for this album all month, so obviously I had some pretty high expectations sitting down to finally dive into this one. Unfortunately, Reneé Rapp did not really meet those expectations on BITE ME.
This being my first time listening to Reneé, if nothing else, I can say that her vocal talent is obviously there. She's got a solid base to improve from sonically. I think where she falls WAY behind is in her creativity and her songwriting abilities. ... read more
Genuinely some of the most atrocious music I've ever listened to. My roommate knows I like to listen to and review a lot of music in my spare time, but after the first song I still had to turn my speaking down for fear of embarrassment if he came to see what I was listening to. The vocals are unbelievably bad and the fake country accent is so bad AND obviously forced. The songwriting is hysterically poor and the production feels like they were actually TRYING to spotlight her singing. What ... read more
Maroon 5 has become less and less creative with seemingly every new album and that does not change with Love Is Like. Poorly written, not that great production, and even Adam Levine's occasional solid vocals can't save this one.
Yet another really solid addition into The Black Keys' discography.
Unfortunately for Good Charlotte, Motel Du Cap feels like it leans much more often into the pop space than it does rock. This album sounds super bland to me and no songs in particular really caught my attention.
