I've never had a ham hock in my cornflakes, but after listening to this album, I feel like I have.

Incredible album. I love the sweeping, epic rock tracks and how they give way to the moments of more traditional, almost danceable fun like "The Ocean", "D'yer Mak'er" or "Dancing Days". Though, "The Crunge" is the biggest speed bump yet in any Led Zeppelin album. I can't stand the singing on this album. It's tolerable on the first track and the title track, but aside from that, I hate these drawn-out "harmonies" they try to pull off. And I don't like being this person, but so much of this album doesn't feel like punk either. I get that it's throwing back to rock-n-roll from previous decades, but it reminds me of the Ramones in that I just truly don't hear the counterculture in the music.
