Ctrl

A small improvement from Z, Ctrl is a solid debut album, but she can definitely grow from this. On tracks like Drew Barrymore and Normal Girl, SZA's natural talent shines, with her incredible vocal abilities being complemented by the great production on these two tracks. With that being said, I have to say that a lot of the instrumentals in this record, especially on the deluxe tracks, don't do her a lot of favors, with these songs mostly relying on her performance to make them special, leading to tracks that should be great being good, and tracks that should be good being decent. Even with that, this is still a good album, and one I'm sure SZA fans enjoyed.
