Was it worth waiting for? Maybe. I'm absolutely in love with Friko's debut album and I can say with a high amount of certainty that I don't feel as strongly over this one. Not a bad album by any means, still extremely solid overall. I absolutely adore seven degrees. Certainty was more of the orchestral strings that I love on songs like for Ella. Niko has a beautiful and incredibly expressive voice that sells every line.
Never heard of her before this. But now I feel more informed on the Irish banking crisis of 2008 then ever before.
Really liked this, tenspeed is probably my favourite on the album.
Was recommended this album after a guy in German class saw I was listening to massive attack. Really impressed. Would benefit from a stronger second half, felt like it's best songs were all front loaded.
Subject to change rn while I think on it more...
My only real criticism is I think I would have liked more styles of rap... Maybe 16 of them
Ive been following this band for around a year at this point and I can confidently say that they're for sure a band to keep an eye on. So when I saw that they were going to release an EP I was pretty keen, only to see the EP comes and only has one original song. I wouldn't have been nearly as disappointed if I hadn't played some of these songs a crazy amount times. There was a period where I would have said 'im happy you're here' or 'hands of man's were currently my favourite songs, not of all ... read more
I'm big into my guys with guitars and this man is one of the best to ever do it. Leonard Cohen isn't an outstanding singer by any right, but his song writing is probably top 5 for me it's incredible. this album is so incredibly timeless it absolutely goes to show how songwriting is forever.
Rip goat
Never heard of them before this album released, however this became an audible home for a good couple weeks. Just playing it over and over and over again and I still don't tire. It not pushing the envelope or doing anything crazy experimental however the tracks are ridiculously solid. I loved some moments like them spamming chemical on the song... Chemical, or the ending to where we've been. I was at Tokyo tower listening to Cardinal and looking at the city light from way above combined with ... read more
Maybe its recency bias. But I genuinely think this is one of if not the single most beautiful album I've ever heard.
I love this man dearly.
Its aight, there isn't one song here I'd out over anything off the album though.
