This was a pretty solid pop soul album with great vocals, I just wish it was longer.
To start, Olivia Dean’s vocals are really great here. Her voice in general is already amazing and she uses it really well on this album to create a good atmosphere. I will say that I wish this was a little longer. 35 minutes for 12 songs is crazy short, and only four songs break three minutes. The songs themselves aren’t bad, it just feels like a lot of them end before they get a chance to ... read more
This was a really great folk album with incredible vocal performances.
To start, Cameron’s voice here is incredible as always. In basically all of my Geese reviews I’ve mentioned it but here I feel it got the chance to really shine. The instrumentals in this album, while good, were more dialed back than on Geese albums, allowing Cameron’s voice to really come to the forefront, which I believe was a great decision.
The songs here are all great, especially the longer ones. My ... read more
This was a very solid post-punk album with really great instrumentals.
This album was a bit different sound wise than the other Geese albums in that it was more post-punk sounding than indie rock. I haven’t really listened to much post-punk but I liked the sound here a lot. The instrumentals especially were great here, a lot of songs just went wild with them at the end which I enjoyed. Cameron’s voice is also great as always.
The songs were really great here too. Fantasies / ... read more
This was a pretty solid EP that built on the ideas established in 3D Country.
This EP is five songs that didn’t make it onto 3D Country and you can tell. A lot of the songs use a lot of the same ideas that were explored in 3D Country, so while there isn’t too much new stuff here it’s still good. Cameron’s voice is again great and is one of the standout aspects of the EP. The songs were overall pretty good. 4D Country was the big standout for me, aside from that all the ... read more
This was a very good indie rock album that fused a bunch of different styles together really well.
This album was way different from Getting Killed in the best way possible. It somehow pulled off mixing rock, country, and even a little jazz into a really great final piece. The album also did a great job with being able to bring together the more aggressive stuff and the calmer stuff. Cameron’s vocal performances were also great as always, overall just a very well put together album in ... read more
