Goes hard as hell, less focused than her subsequent album but its nice to go back and see how original / creative she is as a DJ/producer and musician
A love-bomb of early 2000s nostalgia for those who have been enmeshed with the internet and technology all their lives. Incredibly bombastic, charged with erratic synths that create an elevated experience out of familiar noises for those in internet-adjacent music scenes.
Liked this project a lot. While at times it can be a bit lyrically heavy handed, the delivery, tone, and atmosphere is wonderful. Maintains a wonderful rhythm whilst not compromising with its spoken-word backbone.
What a joy to have new Boards of Canada! This hit all of the notes I wanted it to, with odd vocal samples and buzzing synth melodies over downtempo beats.
FAV TRACKS: Naraka, Into the Magic Land, Arena Americanada
It's on the good end of mediocre. Pretty par for the course in terms of a jack antonoff produced record. I still don't think the luster has been there since 2014.
