this is their best album and the best album in general. blue train is ridiculous and the best display of talent in their entire discography. drummer spends this entire album going crazy and it's awesome
the ideal way to listen to this album is to pretend blood circulator is on it and then just listen to that and motor pool 6 times each
maybe track 5 if you're really feeling crazy
considering this is probably their last album ever this is really good. better than anything they'd made since like 2008, good songs throughout, and the closer is a fantastic sendoff. the title track is the most fun the pillows have sounded since like happy bivouac
thank u pillows i love you
THIS IS THEIR BEST IN A DECADE
there's energy? the songs are fun? they don't spend half the length of the album on boring slow ballads that suck ass? what year is this?????
this is the first time i've been content with a pillows album since like pied piper
they've made essentially the same album 16 times now how are they getting worse as it as they go
the riffs sound sooooo tired the only good tracks here are the first and last ones
starts very strong ends very not strong
at least the first track is a banger
whoever mixed/mastered/recorded/did whatever the fuck they did to this album to make it sound like this should be taken out behind the shed
the songs are good but this was recorded and mixed and produced like absolute ass and it's a shame cause it would be quite a bit better if it wasn't like that
they called this shit horn again did you think it wasn't gonna suck
this album sounds like shit. like not just the songs are bad i mean the recording quality is genuinely really bad. their albums from 20 years prior sound better what the fuck were they doing here
this is just boring as hell. there's like one jam here, everything is meandering and pointless. it feels like half the songs on this album are part of a contest to make the least interesting song possible. like they try to be mildly ... read more
after four tracks i was like ok this isn't that bad and then it quickly got that bad
it has more good songs than moon gold but also is more boring and consistently shit and doesn't have potential and has no real redeeming qualities from tracks 5-11 so it's worse. at least your order and lemon drops are good albeit really generic.
the last song is just inamuragasaki jane by asian kung fu generation except bad and it makes me rethink my rating scale.
if i did this discography in one sitting ... read more
pretty solidly good album that never really becomes great and never really becomes mid. kinda blends together but overall it's still nice
very consistently good album that occasionally becomes great towards the end
has some weaker stuff than the surrounding two (borderline case) but still has some absolute classics in stuff like the title track and the first two. white ash is super slept on too
last dinosaur is a top 3 song of all time
there's 10 other bangers here as well.
hybrid rainbow, little busters, and blues drive monster are some of the best songs ever created and this album is awesome. you will not get the full effect of a certain scene in FLCL if you listen to hybrid rainbow first though so go watch it and then come back to this album
maybe i'm just biased because of FLCL but stalker kinda blows everything else here out of the water, still a good album all around tho and has some of their best ballad-y tracks
this is some jazz shit that blends elements of what they were on their last few albums with what they would become on their next album. good album that's a nice sample of what they can do
this is just moon gold but with a very slight improvement on basically everything. also contains their first actual good song (track 3)
the first pillows album shows potential and also shows that they've come a long way from being a mediocre jangle pop band
congratulations to me on being the only person in this website's history to get this far into the pillows discography
considering how not good a lot of wake up! wake up! wake up! was and how ooparts is apparently their worst album i wasn't expecting this to be good but it's actually quite pleasant. no real bad tracks and a pretty good amount of jams. tokyo bambi sounds like nothing else i've heard from them and it's great
