Really disappointed, one of my favorite artists. It's not bad but it's not really good either despite a couple solid singles
I have to look absolutely schizophrenic to my Discord friends who just see me listening to the ladder half of Hollywood Forever for an entire day
Update: I have been listening to solely this album for the last 2 weeks and everything needed to be bumped up
Holy shit this is one of Flume's best albums. Consistently good throughout
They sound better when they're accompanied by the show but it's mostly good
Favorites were luther, reincarnated, heart pt. 6, gloria
Liked just about everything on here though, it was super consistent. Least favorite was peekaboo, I could see the chorus getting annoying for me down the line. Didn't care much for man at the garden either, but that acapella crescendo at the end really hit the spot
Edit: Oh god it's all growing on me
It's as if they scientifically designed these synths & basses for maximum dopamine production. Seriously the production on this is NUTS, especially with the low-end. It's album-wide, but a good single song example of how good the mixing is would be "everything is romantic" which has that massive kick without drowning out the other aspects of the track. I tend to move scores a bit up/down after repeat listens, but first impressions of this are really positive. 2024 is a good year ... read more
This is their best album, even track 12 is just better Stressed Out.
Favorites: Navigating, Routines in the Night, Next Semester
Least Favorites: Lavish, Vignette
Would rather listen to Wah Gwan Delilah tbh. J Cole doesn't have the excuse of the post-Kendrick effect because J Cole basically said "you're it I quit"
Wow I really wasn't expecting to like more than 1 or 2 of these but this conjuction would go crazy at the function
This soundtrack is so good that I would often stop playing the game so I could sit in Hotel Krat and listen to Quixotic 3 times over. It isn't just Quixotic though; it's all of them. Why is one of the most emotional piano pieces I have ever heard, Feel is so memorable, and Fascination was a great choice for the game and has been perpetually stuck in my head for half a year now. Brilliant soundtrack and then best game of 2023, Lords of the Fallen EAT YOUR HEART OUT
Heard great things about this and was relatively uninterested until track 3: Heaven. This song is so tragically beautiful and interesting, gave me shivers multiple times. And my god that symphony at the outro is GAS. After 2 captivating tracks in 3 and 4 I was significantly more invested in the listen. My Love Mine All Mine is also a great song, and I had actually heard it before without really knowing whose it was. I'd say it's the catchiest one on the album. Overall a fun listen with a few ... read more
