This is a great, funny, clever, and super slick record. I really like the way it all transitions and I find this band's ability for wordplay pretty entertaining.
But it sounds good, too. Like really good. There's ballads, talk-singing, rapping, and other unique styles on display here.
Will be returning.
Defying all odds, defying my propensity to really dislike this kind of sound, expecting more of the Xiu Xiuian noise that doesn't do anything for me musically, I loved this album at first listen.
I found it by accidentally clicking on Ikareta Neet instead of Fishmans' Ikareta Baby. This is incredible. It's panic-inducing. But restorative. There are "breaks," but my heartrate doesn't go down during them. This is musical struggle, and you could call it cathartic. ... read more
