This is a great, funny, clever, and super slick record. I really like the way it all transitions and I find this band's ability for wordplay pretty entertaining.
But it sounds good, too. Like really good. There's ballads, talk-singing, rapping, and other unique styles on display here.
Will be returning.
Defying all odds, defying my propensity to really dislike this kind of sound, expecting more of the Xiu Xiuian noise that doesn't do anything for me musically, I loved this album at first listen.
I found it by accidentally clicking on Ikareta Neet instead of Fishmans' Ikareta Baby. This is incredible. It's panic-inducing. But restorative. There are "breaks," but my heartrate doesn't go down during them. This is musical struggle, and you could call it cathartic. ... read more
Way better than it has any right to be. Consistency and flow that kind of don't make any sense when you consider that this is supposed to be a soundtrack, and thus should sound maybe be situational, and jarring to listen to all the way through. Not the case here. Simply impressive.
Worth a listen. Heard Game Of The Heart on the show "Man Seeking Woman." Fell in love with the song. The rest is pretty good too!

This is the Day (by a lot)
Giant
Synths sound kind of like Nine Inch Nails. Highly reccomend this!
Ambient pop is such a sad tag for what is filled to the brim with shitty autotuned vocals. It could've been so much better, but this is a super frustrating listen.
I didn't have as much fun listening to the whole thing as I do "Dancing In The Moonlight," but it kept me engaged long enough to finish it. I remember it being good, but not much else besides that.
Surprise highlight: She Keeps Me High
A necessary brightness shining in on an otherwise dreary world.
Not sure what to say about this one yet, only that it is different from everything else
Some poetic stuff on here, and pretty touching at times, but too abrasive/repetitive to feel good to hear again. And yeah, I know some of that is the point.
Think about how good this would be if it were self-aware.
First song sounds great though.
