DAMN. is personally my favorite album from Kendrick Lamar. It just speaks so many volumes and I find such a deep personal connection to the album. The word play in this album is immaculate. Kendrick just has such a great gift of articulating his words so well. Painting such vivid imagery and making the listener feel the emotions he conveys. The storytelling is also done in such a captivating way and had a different meaning if listen to it backwards. This struggle between right and wrong, good ... read more
I LOVE this album. A combination of questioning topics of artificial intelligence, politics, society, technology and space. Avenged Sevenfold just really tickled my brain in the right way with this one. Life is just a simulation and we're the ones on the stage performing the the enjoyment of others. Society is eventually going to cause its own extinction bc humans are destructive creatures that can't help but create war. I love when A7X does prog because they do it so right. The more I listen to this album, the less I enjoy it. I enjoy the themes of looking back on what was and having mixed feeling about it. There's so much to like, but also so much to not like. Touching up on themes from previous albums and offering resolutions; feeling bitter, nostalgic, and accepting. This album has various genre blending that sometimes works well and other times does not. A unique stab at prog metal. Overall a great album and I love its theatrical pace and how the last ... read more
An album about toxic relationships and feeling unable to escape them. I find a deep personal connection with this album. Being stuck in a state of confusion, blind to your own despair. When you think you love someone you unintentionally see past the dark signs. You Want to leave but you just can't. You're blindly stuck in a painful trance that you can't escape, no matter how hard to try to shove your way through it.

This Place Will Become Your Tomb is an album I find myself constantly coming back to. A true emotional journey that captivates me every time I listen. The thematic water effects in every song is such a unique touch and brings emphasis on drowning deeper. Themes of finding peace and accepting no matter how painful. Healing occurs over time and only then can you continue to grow. Without acceptance you will only drown deeper.
