While experimenting and mixing different sounds is always welcomed, Sundowning doesn't really create anything that I can find interesting or good at all. The slow parts sound awfully generic, a lot of tracks follow the same formula (slow, more pop oriented part + metal outro) that gets boring very quickly and the heavy parts sound forced.
One of the best vocal performances ever, Vessel is a incredible vocalist, the emotion he puts out is just from another world. 'Blood Sport' is one of the most beautiful things I have heard, the crying in the end breaks me everytime.

One of the most unique bands out there, the way the blend different genres and styles into a cohesive product is truly outstanding! While this album didn't completely blow me away (a lot of boring filler for my taste), it's a really good debut that showcases their talent. Also production wise it's surprisingly amazing for such a small band: crystal clear mix with huge guitar tone and drum sound (that snare is so nasty).
Favorites: Gods, Higher, Sugar, The Offering, Dark Signs and Blood Sport.
