there is pretty much nothing about that album that stands out to me, positive or negative. bakar is very underrated in my opinion but this project is just decent. hell n back is good but everything else is perfectly ordinary.

indie rock at its very best. it's definitely a tik tok album, but then again so are some of the best albums in the world. the guitars in all of the songs, dugout and maple syrup specifically, are beautiful, and the entire album gives me a sense of nostalgia that no other work, theirs or others, have been able to replicate for me. all around a consistently beautiful indie rock sound done masterfully for 37 minutes and 24 seconds of heaven.

while it definitely doesn't deserve the light 2 from fantano, it is certainly a step, and probably 2, below all of his previous work. with that being said, many felt this way about currents on its release, so time will tell, but overall at the moment, it is a solidly ordinary album.

currents is an absolute fucking masterpiece and without a shadow of a doubt his best work. let it happen may go down, at least in my mind, as the greatest song of all time, and top 5 at a minimum. a clear step in a different direction from innerspeaker and lonerism, but he does it masterfully. there is not one skip on this album, and anyone who disagrees can fight me. top 3 albums of all time for me. 10/10 no notes.
