Not only the whole album situate Vaxis around Afterman's Lore, but I believe it is more closely related to the events inside Evagria's memories, or closely related to Evagria. Since the starting track uses the start motif of Pretelethal and the ending track has in the final the motif sang in "Who will Repair This Broken Heart".
I can't help but to feel the personal connection in each of Braxton's works. In For Alto you can clearly hear him grasping for some air while doing those crazy solos, in this one you can hear the struggle of the musicians to perform their parts as well in some sections. The live version would feel even more personal than this, I imagine.
I love when albums give us a punch and a counter-punch. The problem is when one of them seems kinda meh.
I've never seen such a group of DIRTY brass instruments as this one here.
