I mean, she wouldn't be the first artist to make some of their best music while at their personal worst.
If you take the idea of the album as a thematically cohesive expression of artistic identity (and, duh, the songs are good) then, baby, this is the best TSwift has to offer. Sure, these songs lack the production value of her later albums but this one captures the idea of "Taylor Swift" better than any of the rest. Sorry, Kanye.
Sure, she's no Dylan-esque poet, but every song slaps and that's hard to do on any album, let alone one with 16 tracks.
