My Morning Jacket - Z

So good and still good

Ryan Adams - 1989

For someone who never even really listened to the original version, this just hit all the right buttons for me. I loved every single track and the way he did it.

The Neighbourhood - Chip Chrome & The Mono-Tones (Deluxe)

I discovered them through this album so I think that’s why I loved this album more than most. I see now it’s far from anything they’ve ever done but I just could not have loved it more. So fun. So pretty. So lyrically surprising and just funky. It was my fave album of 2020.

The National - High Violet

So ahead of its time. So poised. Lyrically transcendent. I still listen to this album.

Ray LaMontagne - Gossip in the Grain

Fell in love with Ray via this album. Nothings changed. He just keeps getting better.

Incubus - If Not Now, When?

I liked this album more than most. It feels like a natural profession for them but still held onto the the things that make them who they are.

Incubus - A Crow Left of the Murder...

Barely a skip on the album. Fun asf.

Incubus - Morning View

More mellow than they usually go but a super chill vibe I can always get into. Brandon’s vocals are purely beautiful from start to finish.

Kanye West - ye

Still listen to it. Still love it.

Justin Bieber - Freedom.

Well at least Justin thinks Justin is great.

Jerry Paper - Abracadabra

So fun and smart.

Kid Cudi - Man On The Moon III: The Chosen

Still listening to this album. It’s beautiful. His lyrics and sound combined with the beats and production really just perfectly aligned to make a close to perfect album.

Justin Bieber - Changes

Think I’m the only person who didn’t hate this. Of course Yummy is hot garbage. But imo it was just all rolled out poorly. They picked the worst songs as singles. There are truly some hidden gems. Some of his best vocals. Lyrics are cheesy but that’s just Bieber at this point. The trap beats were not as bad as everyone says. To me this is one of his best albums.

"I think the main difference between Justin and the other artists you mentioned (MJ mainly) is he is surrounded by YES MEN. No one will tell him the truth. Everyone is on the payroll. He doesn't have any true friends or true mentors that will say "yeah that's a bad idea." He never has had that. And lets face it, part of growing up and getting better, just as a person, is your true friends humbling you when you're being too full of yourself while still gassin you up when you deserve it. He's never really been held accountable. And sadly, I just don't think he's very smart. While I agree with you that he had loads of potential at one point, I think a lot of what was showed to us through his team was a lot of smoke and mirrors. If you really go and watch him play instruments, it's just okay. If you go and listen to his raw vocals, they're great at times, but go listen to his NYE performance where you could really hear him with no screams. It's eye opening."
