I'm crestfallen I don't like a Tame Impala album :(
But in a more serious note I appreciate Kevin evolving and changing as an artist but I'm just not a fan of this album. I want to like Deadbeat because I adored Lonerism in high school and Currents during my university years so he's one my favorite artists growing up but I just don't like most of this album. Maybe it's something that grows on me as time passes but right now I'm just not feeling this album.
I miss the teddy bear on his albums... And him not being one deranged unhinged mofo and having the ability to release great music.
This is a beautiful and an utterly intoxicating album. Just pleasant on the ears, even my least favorite songs on the album was really enjoyable.
I love the first half of this album with Like JENNIE, ExtraL, and with the IE being my personal favorites on this album. But the latter half of this album declines in quality for me and most of the songs I probably wouldn't return to much. It's not terrible stuff just mostly forgetable for me.
It's very meh some nice songs like Rather Lie, Good Credit and Evil J0Rdan but certainly a step back from his previous albums. There's worse albums/music out there but if you're not Carti fan or like this genre of music I would skip.
Not my favorite work by the band but still think it's a solid album. I enjoyed the first half of this album more than the second half with Honey Water being my favorite of song of the album. Honey Water might end up being one of my favorites from their discography.
Honestly, couldn't finish this album without hitting next halfway through some songs. I do find the album the name amusing because it has nothing to do with "greatness."
If you told me in high school I would like a Rebecca Black album I would've been absolutely dumbfounded and in denial. It's great she was able to overcome those infamous songs like Friday and continue her music career. Solid album with no bad songs and something I may end up rating higher in the future.
Kind of mix bag for me as there a number of great songs on this album and it's some of my favorite songs by him... But also felt it was way too bloated and I didn't care for a quarter of the songs on the album.
Lovely album and thoroughly enjoyed it! Favorite songs: Prologue to the nine stages of changes at the deceased remains, hades in the dead of winter, and yurikago kara hakaba made.
I like this cover way more than the original but the music is just okay. Think I liked it a little more with these tracks than the original album however the remix of Please Please Please is not good.
This album just felt like a worse version or continuation of Dreamland. I don't hate it but it felt very aggressively mid to me with a few nice songs but it's mostly unremarkable and bland.
This will not go down as my favorite Kendrick album but it was a fun listen. It was funny hearing him calling out other rappers and the music industry and him yelling out MUSTAAARDD. Also it sounded like Kendrick was just having fun as it his lyrics weren't as deep and it's more straightforward than his past works. It's a good album but a little inconsistent for me especially in the latter half.
The production is atrocious but hooboy the lyrics might be even worse in quality. Maybe she can have a redemption arc like Rebecca Black but I'm dubious as she made this album as an adult. Not that I can go out and write better music myself as I've only learned how to play piano and read notes but who said this was okay to release and why? It's not even a fun bad or a guilty pleasure just a chore to listen to.
Sophie had a great first album but unfortunately and sadly had an untimely death a few years ago so I was surprised to hear a second album was to release posthumously. But honestly this was a drag to listen to, the quality of this album is significantly lower and almost double the length of Oil of Every Pearl's Un-Insides which made it a more difficult listen. I don't want to be too critical as I'm not sure how much of the work was changed or how much of Sophie's vision made ... read more
Some decent songs like Two Faced or The Emptiness Machine but otherwise I didn't really like the album. I found most of the songs to be pretty uninteresting production wise and lyrically and to be honest I kind of forgot half of the album and I just only listened to this yesterday. I do think Emily's performance is solid and she fits well with the band but overall I don't feel compelled to listen to this again or look forward to their future work.
