Solid epic doom metal cheese-core. Is it as good as Epicus Doomicus Metallicus? No, but it scratches the itch (sort of).

The music is there, but is this really the production they wanted? It's 2026, they should be able to get the sound they desire. Why this sanitary production?

It's too clean for black metal and there's a bunch of 'Opeth-esque' interludes that aren't my jam but the good bits hit. Some decent reference material here, at least. Album seems experimental/improv jammy; they're feeling around for something but not sure what

Musically it's what you'd expect, which is fine, but no fresh take on the genre here. The real problem is the clear vocals, the most important part of a project like this, are restrained, not angsty enough. Actually, everything on the album is a bit too restrained and lacking

it's a solid album and I like the variety in singers, but it is like.. one beat for 53 minutes. i'd like some more variety for such a long work

I don't usually rate classical (or jazz) on here, but want to note this;;

Non-functional harmony but also not atonal ; influences I assume are Barber, Debussy [also: gamelan], with some Crumb-like passages here and there (eg: Vortex)..

whole album is basically one tempo (slow), and music is kinda meandering but a good example of making 'modern' methods sound 'nice'

other reviews have mentioned that the second half of the album is much more interesting than the first, which I agree with. Hoping for her to move more in that direction

this is sick, they're on the verge of a breakthrough here it's just missing something.. would like a little more depth to the sound but it's SO CLOSE
