Nice debut from Em, does a good job of introducing him and Shady and giving us a peek into his mental and his struggles. Definitely didn’t age amazingly and can get corny at points but was I’m sure a breath of fresh air the time. Looking past how passionately crude it is though you get some amazing rapping from Eminem and some awesome storytelling. Great record.

Lmao why yall always gotta be so negative?? The sample is great and the vibe is awesome. Lyrics are funny as hell ts so unserious I love it. Hopefully Ye’s at least having a good time making non-antisemitic music again.

God man, yeah this one’s rough Weezy. While not every track is god awful there are some shockingly low lows on this thing, laughably low. Overall Wayne’s performances range from washed to ok, but he does get outperformed by almost every feature. The production is certainly hit or miss, with some ass beats, some slappers, some ai, a bug mixed bag. Not to mention the abundance of electric guitar throughout the record? Usually is a safe way to make great tracks even better ... read more

Weezy’s still got it, or at least still did in 2018. While I think this album is really bloated and the worst of the Carter series (excluding C6), it’s not bad at all. In fact, it’s got some great tracks and some extremely high highs. Basic take I know but Let It All Work Out might be the best song of Lil Wayne’s career, it’s that good. A great record overall, if only it could have been his retirement album 😭

Vince dropped album of the year so far 🥹
I was not honestly expecting this thing to be as good as it was since I wasn’t a huge fan of any of the singles but damn was I wrong. Vince embracing a more rock heavy sound was not on my 2026 bingo card but it works so extremely well here, especially with his delivery and voice. Not to mention the wordplay and lyricism is still on point, despite the production taking center stage. Absolutely fantastic.

Might be a hot take I guess but, I honestly loved this record so much. Sure the highs aren’t as conceptually high as what was presented on Tha Carter III, and sure Wayne’s overall energy and bars may not be quite as amped as on the Tha Carter II, but I honestly think that this project is much more consistent and impressive than either of those two. The production is amazing, Wayne and features are absolutely killing it on every track, and even some of the more commonly ... read more

Wayne was so damn close to a fantastic/perfect record with this man. Seriously, if he had just ended this album at Shoot Me Down and maybe removed Phone Home this could have been a Strong 9 to a 10. But no, we get some of the best tracks of the entire year followed by bloat and "Pussy Monster" on the streaming version which is a TERRIBLE song. Like genuinely if it were on this version I would have given it a 1-2 it is awful. Like I said though, besides the mid and bad ... read more
Banger, love the bouncy little flow he does to close the first verse, JID never falling off 🔥🔥

Definitely would turn heads if an up and coming rapper were to drop something like this today. Though, I was expecting a bit more for all that I've heard. Yes it's a really great Hip Hop record, strong dominant rapping over solid beats, but that's about as far as it goes. Plus its a bit long, but overall is fairly consistent. Great.

God damn man, this REALLY surprised me. Wayne is hungry af and is rapping his ass off over some amazing beats. Of course its a bit long and there's a dud or two in the tracklist, but man this was really really great.

Between this and The Chronic, I think that this is the better record, but only by a bit. It definitely has the higher highs, and more of them, but also ends up being a bit bloated. I saw another review that claimed that this record could have been a Strong 9 had it ended at The Next Episode, but I'll take it a step further. Deadass, cut tracks 12-19 and this could have been a 10. Its a shame, but I'm glad we still got the first half. Fantastic overall.

Extremely important for the genre, and not half bad either. There’s definitely some iffy moments, but overall the production is incredible and the rapping has its moments. It’s a really great record.

God DAMN this shit bangs. This is easily the best out of the trilogy and, to me, one of the best bodies of work that Nas has ever put out. Even at the ripe old age of 50 Nas' rapping is some of the best in the game, he's still full of energy and hunger, and he flows over any beat. Speaking of beats, SHIT what in the hell is Hit-Boy smoking? These beats are absolutely heaven and compliment Nas so extremely well. My only gripe is that it runs a bit long, and has a dud or ... read more

For sure one of the better Nas records I’ve heard. Production is heavenly, features do their thing, Nas is on point as always. The highs on this record are frequent and make me almost want to give it a 9/10, but I just don’t really think it’s that good. It’s really great though, of course.

Underrated as HELL man, this is a really great record from Nasty Nas. The Hit-Boy production is at times absolutely peak, the features are hit or miss but are overall pretty good, and Nas' rapping is incredible for how late he is in his career. He literally sounds the same as he always has, even since he was just 20.

I’d say it’s a bit overrated, but it’s definitely a pretty solid collection of tracks. Great.

This was apparently a return to form for Nas, I see it. This thing is pretty good, falls off a bit in the second half but has some of my favorite Nas songs I've heard (2nd Childhood is an absolute vibe)! It's great, and arguably better than It Was Written.

Nas absolutely does not capture the magic of Illmatic on this project, but is able to put together a fairly consistent track list that makes for a decent sequel. It’s a great record.
