38 tracks of straight mid. I came back to this project since I forgot to listen to it, but maybe I shouldn't have. At first I kinda liked it, but it lost me at around track 20 compleatly.
Didn't expect Beyoncé to rap like that... I think this project was successful for what it tried to be, and brought their styles together really well. But despite that, I probably will never revisit this expect for APESHIT.
I only listened to this because it's labeled as a Metro project too, but he only produced like 20% of this... anyways, this project is surprisingly not as bad as I thought it would be. Has some bangers but it's mostly just filler.
This is the weakest Kanye mixtape I heard so far... it has around the same length as the other ones, but there are a lot of just avarage tracks compared to his other ones. Still not bad at all.
One of Metro's first projects, and this awful cover really resembles that well. As for the tracks, they are avarage or below avarage, with decent production from Metro. At first the songs might sound cool, but if you take just half a minute to think about it, they really aren't.
College Drouput era Kanye beats + cute interludes... you can't go wrong with it. Forgot to rate but here it is.
Not much to say, another mixtape by Kanye that has amazing production and rap performances. The long freestyle at the end is probably the coolest part though.
This project is really weird... while it's grand, got great production, great lyrics, great bars and wordplay, decent features and a good concept, it feels so empty and I can't explain why. All I know is, it's not bad... but nowhere near amazing neither.
Wow, a great posthumous album. I'm glad these tracks got released, they have a lot of replay value. This album is just a vibe. Not as good as his classics, but still, it's definetly worth a listen.
Neeeew Yooork-
Okay, my opinion here might be cooked, but I really enjoyed this album. The lows are really low, but the highs are really high, and overall I think it's much better than The Blueprint 2, but obviously not better than the first. Production is great too. My main issue with this album is that some features feel perfect, some unnecessary and corny.
It starts of slow and weak, but gets progressively better. While it has a few highlights, though, it's nothing close to his classics like Reasonable Doubt, The Blueprint or The Black Album. Also, this album has some great bars, better than on Kingdom Come.
It's short, sweet, vulnerable (duh)... and posthumous. Feels unnecessary, they could barely make a 28 minute project, EVEN though they added alternate tracks too... But overall, none of the songs are bad.
This is a compilation of Marvin's earlier, more smooth and calm works. It's really mediocre, feels like his first few projects expect a bit more polished. Posthumous albums just ain't it.
Jay's comeback. It has many good song concepts, good lyrics, and even the beats are fine, but overall? Really boring, forgettable with really nothing too much to point out in it. Minority Report is definetly a highlight.
This album is not that bad, but after hearing track 3 I felt sexually assaulted the whole way through, so I'm NOT giving this a good score. What was Marvin thinking when making that? And more importantly, what was the label thinking of releasing it?
Really weird collab, but unexpectedly good? I never thought a rock and hip-hop collab could be this fire. The critics were harsh on this one, I think it's easily worth a listen.
hmm i think diddy is the only one that could save this project
So this is the last project Marvin himself ever released... this journey was worth it for sure.
About this project, it sounds more bold and he experimented with new sounds which turned out great. While Sexual Healing carries, the rest of the album is really funky and fun.
I mean, it's cool? It's just mostly remixes to tracks from The Black Album with a few other remixes and interludes. The originals sound much better.
