It's ironic to start revewing albums again and starting with this one. I really did fall off from doing anything creative since I wrote my review for DTMF. It's been a wild year or so since then. Work has swallowed me whole and I've been trying to separate myself from it. It seems as if this album really did come at the perfect time for me.
I'm writing this during my 29th year on Earth. I wasn't born in North Carolina, but I've spent about 70% ... read more

This is Benito in his purest form. He sounds so comfortable and vulnerable on these songs. Nothing sounds forced or manufactured.
The album hits on so many different levels that it's almost impossible to hate. Parts of this album made me feel like a kid again and my parents would play salsa, cumbia, and Spanish artists while they cleaned the house or just hung out. It's a sense of nostalgia that I ... read more
This shit rips. It's dark, insightful, harrowing, and a great reminder of how shitty the world is.
I kept feeling a huge Korn influence and I was not mad at it at all. It makes you think and it's a great continuation from their last record (which I also loved). The world is brutal and Chat Pile does not want you to forget it. It will definitely be in my top 10 of this year and they are quickly becoming my favorite band.

Peggy has been in my top 5 since I heard Veteran. Every project he releases always feels like a breath of fresh air. This one is no different. The production, like always, is top tier. It's clear that Peggy takes this shit seriously and makes sure that every sound and sample is exactly where it needs to be. He doesn't really give you a chance to let you get comfortable. It's beat switch after beat switch and each of them being better than the last.
He's also rapping his ... read more
I can not stop listening to this album! Claro's voice is addicting and the instrumentals put forth exactly the vibe that she was hoping for. It's dreamy, sad, hopeful, and 100% charming. It's different than the rest of her projects and I feel like I'm with her if she just wants to keep making music like this. It's makes me want to pick up an instrument again and make music this nice and peaceful.
The vibe is fairly similar throughout (which I don't think is ... read more
I'm not sure where to begin with this album. The second time through I listened to it with a more open ear, and still found everything extremely cringe-worthy and forced. There are definitely moments on here that remind me of the old Eminem/Shady, but man.. the whole Shady persona is played out.
Often times, it feels like the Slim Shady persona was just a way for Eminem to say the most offensive and off-color nonsense without repercussions. It's not shocking anymore and it just ... read more
The best mixtape of all time.
It's dark, funny, depressing, expressive, and Mac's magnum opus. It's haunting to listen to at times because it so clearly shows what Mac was growing through at the time. I think it's super important to hear an artist of Mac's level describe and explain what addiction truly does to someone. There are quoteables throughout the whole tape that have stuck with me. It's raw and beautiful and man I miss Mac so much.

I've loved Don for a while now, so this shouldn't be a surprise. He's exploring a lot of cool and fun sounds and combinations here. I wish there were more songs like Tore Up, but there are some CLASSIC Don moments on here. I'm also a big fan of the 4 disc, 4 songs each way of separating themes and genres. The overall aesthetic of the roll out fits Don really well too.
FAVORITE SONGS: Tore Up, Brother Stone, Glock, Ice Age, Deep In The Water
LEAST FAVORITE: Last Laugh
IWTD is a testament to Parker's lyrical growth. The album is full of emotional, vulnerable lyrics that bring me right back to what I loved about TSSF. There are some fun choruses and great moments overall. It's sadly very short, but still a great listen.
Favorite Songs: Watch You Go, Jump The Gun, Keep You Around, Big Blind
Beats are fun, but a lot of the bars are cringy and it can get fairly repetitive.
SHE'S DONE IT AGAIN!!!!! Banger after banger after banger, so fun and it's my favorite listen so far in 2024.
Man this thing blew me away. If any band in this genre deserves mainstream praise, it's Knocked Loose. The boys did it again.
The most important rap album ever made. Best album of the 2010s easily.
An album that has been with me through the worst and the best moments of my life.
THank god 4 me is Q's best song and I've listened to it about 1,000 times. The second half of the album starts falling off a bit, but such a good return.
