This album to me is nearly a masterpiece, each song is different from the other yet maintains their unique style.
From ”I want to break you in half” to “fuckabout” its a nonstop enjoyable an hour of rock.
Loveless’ vocals are brilliant, especially on “Nothing” (my personal favourite) as well as the excellent drum and bass
All in all a brilliant album that makes for an enjoyable half an hour.
I don’t have much to say about this one,
It captures all the emotions that Dave Grohl was feeling and it shows us this clearly, I believe that the absence of his mother fuels this track, pairing with the harmonisations with his daughter violet, really show how he feels like he’ll struggle to manage parenthood without his mother, however his daughter will be there for him so he can be the positive influence on her that his mother was on him.
Just fucking perfect.

“It came in a flash/It came out of nowhere,”
“It happened so fast/and then it was over,”
These beginning lyrics sort of summarise the emotions of the song and what I feel the band as well, I feel like it sort of shows the shock of the band and the emotions that were felt after the death of Taylor Hawkins (R.I.P)
The song also for me summarise stages of grief, with the ... read more
As nice as it is that Kirk has another writing credit, I do think that this is currently the weakest track on the LP so far, even with the references to hardwired and load in the sound, I still think that it was weak in the vocals the most, the riff and the drums were great as always, but everything else just seemed a bit lacking.
The song is in no way bad and i still think that it is stellar like all the others, but I do just think it’s slightly lacking.
From these three songs alone I can tell that this album will be up there, with little references to other songs and the general mix of hardwired and load sounds, I feel that this album will skyrocket to be one of their best.
Best: Screaming Suicide
Least favourite: if darkness had a son
(Though it’s nice to see Kirk getting a writing credit again)
