Lately I've been feeling disconnected from people & this album is very much comforting as it sounds so isolated & lonely it's hard to explain. I suffer from Dissasociative episodes & Derealization & it makes it just incredibly hard to connect to others. I won't get the chance to say it much, Fuck ICE & Free Palestine
Birthing is apparently the last "big sound" album swans are gonna create, whether this means their next album will be more intimate or this is their final album is up in the air but I do need to acknowledge that. Swans are a band I do enjoy a lot, projects like SFTB & Filth standout to me alot personally but on this album I really didn't get a whole lot out of it. The Healers is a great intro but the next 2 songs take up so much runtime & are the bulk of this album & ... read more
The interlude moments take me out of the album experience personally but the rest of the album is amazing
Really just wanted to talk about 1989 because man that is actually such a perfect song, the production etc.
Only rating this because Minecraft is goated & Ive been playing it alot lately
MIKES debut mixtape, while incredibly short I feel it does a lot & introduces you too MIKE a lot. Yeah in some moments you can tell it's amateurish and you can tell he hadn't fully found his sound yet, but it's a debut, and for a debut it still has a lot of personality too it. While MIKE would perfect his sound on projects like War In My Pen, Disco, Burning Desire, this is still an incredibly important project in his discography
After hearing this, i want to delve more into NSB. This album has a cold atmosphere using these drones to encapsulate this feeling of isolation, some songs have these strings that soar and invoke this sense of melancholy. Every song fills you with dread in the best way possible
I would argue that this is one of the most important hip hop albums in recent times. JPEGMAFIA is an artist I absolutely love no surprises there but for ages I kept putting this off, but now I've actually listened to it & it is incredibly great. I say this is one of the most important hip hop albums as it is so overly political & abrasive with what it's throwing at you, JPEGMAFIA on this album criticises the Alt Right, other rappers & problematic artists & does it with ... read more
JPEGMAFIA returns for his second release this year, this time a Collab ep with Australian producer Flume. While being really short it does pack quite a bit into it with its satirical takes on modern society especially with songs titles like "AI Girlfriend & The Ocean Is Fake" honestly the production on this is amazing, it's glitchy, futuristic, hard, but also beautiful at times. JPEGMAFIA still roughly stays in the similar path he usually does, I will say though Track 1 is a ... read more
